Results clients have achieved

Clients trust us for complex challenges, innovation journeys or collaboration needs. Together we have achieved results to be proud of. Be inspired:

Delhaize

(with Beanmachine)

Delhaize wanted to better support its independent stores by reviewing the entire value chain of their support and making targeted improvements.

Over 5 workshops, we worked with a group of regional directors and executives. The goal was to:

N

Evaluate pain points for affiliates.

N
Formulate action items to alleviate or eliminate those points.
N
And thus improve overall affiliate support and customer service.

“The exercise that was on the table was complex, not easy to start and land in such a short time, You as an outsider very quickly gained the trust of the group by how you stand there yourself. Not like “I’m going to explain it all here” or “this is how we are going to do it”, but because you listen well, leave space, structure and make them feel that you are there to help.

Besides the creation of a scenario and translation of the assignment into workshops, it was your experience in guiding workshops and groups that made the difference. If someone were to ask me for a good partner to do workshops with, I would definitely recommend you because we just had a great experience and worked well together. You made the difference based on your experience in guiding groups, you brought good methods, and together we got the results we needed.”

Centerparcs

(with Bedenk!)

Centerparcs developed its future vision around improving three pillars: the employee experience, the customer experience and CSR. In order to manifest that vision, they started a journey for employees to conceive and drive innovative initiatives to reach this vision.

Teams of employees were invited to send in videos of their initiative. After a preselection, we guided the German speaking teams in developing their initial idea into a fully validated concept and pitch to management. In this innovation journey, together we clarified:

N
Whether there was added value in their ideas (validation)
N
Who exactly the customer for their concept was
N

What investments were needed and how much revenue was expected

N
How to pitch their concept convincingly to management
For each of these pillars, a winning concept was eventually chosen and rolled out internally.

Elia

(with Board of Innovation and Beanmachine)

The energy landscape is changing at lightning speed and Elia wants employees to better manage change inside and outside the organization. Every year Elia sends about 20 high potentials through Tesla, a hands-on training program focused on developing innovation, creativity, leadership, and collaboration.

Each team of these high potentials receives a challenge from their sponsor and guidance to take it on. During the final pitch, they present their innovative solution to management. Winning proposals are picked up and further developed internally.

We led this program from A to Z, along with a partner from Board of Innovation and Beanmachine.

“From the start of the program until the pitches, I observed a beautiful evolution in the whole group. You as a person had a big part in that. The growth of people and encouraging them to take steps forward is clearly something you are passionate about and in which you excel. You have a sharp eye for people’s potential, give very good feedback (often things other people don’t see) and succeed in giving people a ‘push’ in the right direction so that they fulfil this potential and grow. Your enthusiasm, open communication, reliability and sincerity inspired confidence in our collaboration. I can definitely recommend you as a partner, coach or facilitator for journeys around leadership, innovation & entrepreneurship.”

Securex

(with Unbossers)

Securex wanted to enhance their employees’ experience and move toward greater autonomy and self-direction by focusing on 3 pillars: “goal setting,” “promoting growth” and “coaching for progress”.

Within this first pillar, Securex sought an external partner for a pilot project around OKRs (objectives & key results) for the payroll services team. The goal: to give employees more insight into their priorities and impact on results, in order to increase their commitment and motivation.

We worked on this project from proposal to delivery. Afterwards, the client called on us for a co-creation training and inspiration sessions on self-management, feedback and conflict management.

For each of these pillars, a winning concept was eventually chosen and rolled out internally.

“You are a very good facilitator, you do not steer, you make sure that everyone gets a chance and you dare to challenge. You have a sensor that allows you to quickly feel and assess what the group needs. You master the methods and guide in a way that comes across as very natural and organic, while people have no idea how difficult what you are doing is. As a result, you unburdened us and allowed the group to contribute to the sessions from their expertise.

People also sense that you are someone who is true to yourself. You quickly put people at ease, make them feel safe, and as a result create a context of “it’s ok, everything can be said here.” This is very important for psychological safety and to achieve an outcome.”

IO.Energy

(with Co.Station)

IO.Energy is an ecosystem of several companies joining forces to empower citizens around the energy transition and its challenges and opportunities. They realized that they need to work together, but how?

Their e-mobility team consisted of senior individuals from various companies who met once a week to collaborate and move things forward. The goal: to come up with an innovative concept and pitch it. Selected projects were then given budgets.

Our assignment: to guide this team’s innovation journey. We provided structure, instilled safety and trust, motivated the team members and ensured that all areas of expertise were fully utilized. The result: a winning pitch!

We were a group of strong individuals but you made the ingredients in our group bond: “the mayo caught.” You were the ideal facilitator for our journey. You provided a backbone through structure and helpful tools. You maintained a good focus on deliverables and timings and “put the gas on” when the group lapsed into chit-chat. You brought a sense of flow, challenged us and when the group got stuck you were helpful in getting us out.”

Tesco Mobile

(with Integral Agility Institute)

This leading telecom operator in the UK wanted to build a new, validated value proposition around a credit solution for the purchase of mobile devices. In this way, Tesco Mobile wanted to make it easier for consumers to purchase their favorite devices.

Throughout a design sprint, we:

N
Established who our customer was for the new credit solution, what a good outcome would be, and what assumptions there were.
N
Interacted with customers, mapped out what they were up against and what we could learn from them. We then validated the needs of these customers and the opportunity we wanted to tap into.
N

Prototyped the offer and tested it with potential customers. On this basis, we iterated and validated our final concept.

“Working with you was generally a very good experience, Evert. You opened our eyes to a different way of working together, which I thought was excellent. The pace and progress we made in a week surprised everyone. We didn’t expect to get this far. Getting something in front of our customers and testing it in just 5 days was tremendously valuable. We now have something that is fielded with customers, and a strong foundation now that gives us confidence before we invest serious money and time. It was fantastic.

You took us on this journey at pace and in a motivating way, while keeping everyone focused on output and value. Your facilitation skills are absolutely top notch and your style is really personal, with a very good balance between listening very well and moving people forward and making people understand something without telling them. People actually discover things for themselves as a group. And you’re with us, part of the journey, rather than someone on the outside telling us what to do.”

ING

(with Board of Innovation)

Increased competition, globalization, new technologies and rapidly changing customer needs are putting pressure on banks. Business as usual is not an option; banks must keep innovating in order to stay relevant.

When ING Netherlands hired me as Innovation Coach within their Chief Innovation Office, they were in the midst of an agile transformation. Our assignment was to coach, train, and inspire teams to work more innovatively. Using methods such as Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Agile, we guided these teams to tackle critical challenges in more customer-oriented and nimble ways.

“I enjoyed working with you, Evert. You bring a certain peace of mind, and create trust because you know what you’re talking about because of your expertise and experience. People trust you quickly. This creates a feeling of “it’s going to be okay”. This is important because people are in unfamiliar and uncomfortable territory.

Also from the facilitation standpoint, you are clearly in control. You don’t come in with “I’m going to solve your problem.” Instead, you leave the problem with the group, and you empower them to find their own answers. You guide them to leave their usual paths and experience for themselves how things can be done differently. And also make people aware that doing the same thing = achieving the same result.”

Infrabel

(with Board of Innovation)

Infrabel wanted to sharpen the innovation skills of their young IT talent. Together with the client we set up and led an innovation journey where 25 participants and some internal coaches were inspired and coached to tackle a given challenge in innovative ways.

Together, we figured out who their customers were and what challenges they were facing. We conceived innovative solutions that we then tested and (in)validated. Finally, their winning concepts were pitched to colleagues and higher management.

Overall, the impact of the track was clear: bridges were built between IT and business, the trainees gained a lot of experience and were well prepared for their pitch.

“You were on your own with a large group consisting of 5 teams and a group of coaches but chapeau how you handled it! You communicate very clearly in both French and Dutch and also listen very well. Talking on different levels, animating the jury,…. You did it well and everyone accepted you immediately. You felt very well where we wanted to go with the teams and what they needed (e.g. extra coaching).

Although the subject matter was not easy you mastered it and brought a sense of calm and confidence that allowed us to sleep on both our ears. Everything went very efficiently and we could see the result. Thanks to you we built bridges between IT and business and the trainees and coaches gained a lot of experience and were well prepared to defend their case.”
